What is often referred to as low back pain is diagnosed as discogenic pain located in the back. The diagnosis is reached when symptoms indicate chronic back pain in the lower back and damage to the lumbar discs that can be categorized as degenerative. The discogenic back pain is caused by a damaged disc that will not return to its healthy state which is why it is also classified as degenerative which means that the damage will progressively get worse or degenerate. The pain from discogenic back disorder is very severe. Many treatment plans have been devised but the non surgical attempts while helping some patients of degenerative low back pain does not help all patients with the torn disc problem. There is a permanent treatment of degenerative low back pain that involves surgical methods and is called lumbar fusion surgery. There is another treatment besides the chiropractic treatment options or the surgical lumbar fusion surgery. A new treatment option for chronic severe discogenic back pain is called Disc Regenerative Therapy.
